Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac. The sign at the dissolving edge of winter, where water returns to ground and everything softens toward spring. Ruled classically by Jupiter and in modern practice by Neptune, Pisces carries wisdom and sensitivity in the same expression.

The traditional framing

Jupiter in water is compassionate rather than expansive. Neptune deepens the dream. Pisces is the zodiac's artist, mystic, caretaker, the person who feels what others miss and sometimes wishes they did not.

Amethyst

For the quiet intuition. Pisces's spiritual sensitivity matches amethyst's long tradition as a meditation stone.

Best for: dream journaling, contemplative practice, periods where the inner life is especially active.

Aquamarine

For calm voice. Pisces often struggles to articulate what they feel. Aquamarine pairs with the water element and supports honest speech without losing tenderness.

Best for: therapy sessions, conversations about grief, any moment where words need to be soft and true at once.

Moonstone

For cycles and the dreaming body. Moonstone's lunar tradition matches Pisces's tidal emotional sensitivity.

Best for: evening practice, tracking moods, the artistic work that happens in the in-between hours.

How to use them

During Pisces season (late February to late March), keep one of these stones near your most contemplative surface. The bedside. The corner where you write poetry.

As a gift to a Pisces, aquamarine in a delicate setting reads both considered and on-tradition.

A note on the ungrounded stereotype

Pisces gets typecast as drifting, unable to cope with the real world. The older tradition describes the sign as attuned to what most people filter out, which is a different thing. Caring for a Pisces often means trusting their reading of a room. These stones support that sensitivity, not the caricature.

A few honest questions.

What dates does Pisces cover?

February 19 to March 20 in tropical astrology, ending at the spring equinox.

Is Pisces ruled by Jupiter or Neptune?

Classically Jupiter. Modern astrology since Neptune's discovery in 1846 often assigns Pisces to Neptune. Both readings hold. Jupiter gives Pisces its wisdom and expansive compassion. Neptune gives it the artistic and spiritual sensitivity.
